A man returns to his crumbling hometown in southern Italy to search for his vanished moth…
CinemaCinematicCreativityFilmFilmmakingVfx youthfilm-storytellingpuglia.exe is a feature film set in Puglia, southern Italy — part personal story, part fever dream. It draws on childhood memory, Italian 90s texture, and the quiet grief of a place slowly disappearing.
Depopulation, economic stagnation, and generational loss are reshaping towns across southern Italy — and most of it goes unfilmed. puglia.exe makes that invisible world visible through the language of cinema.
The story structure is locked. We are deep in script development and have mapped out the full production approach — including the emerging tools and AI-assisted workflows we'll use to shoot a feature on an independent budget.
I was born in Puglia and later moved abroad. This film comes from a deeply personal place — the specific ache of loving somewhere that is changing faster than memory can keep up with.
