About
I'm building a floating food forest that docks adjacent to public land in New York City. It's been off limits to pick foods on public land, so a floating edible landscape is a workaround: people can visit the water, steward and pick food for free.
Impact
One person at a time, we can dream and see our cities differently. People are inspired when they come aboard, and each person then asks how else to strengthen our food systems, it's impact is exponential.
Progress
We've purchased and landscaped the second barge, and have begun growing edible perennial plants onboard. We are working on the slow sand water filtration systems to be able to utilize saltwater, and a solar system for energy

I've worked in the waterways of New York for fifteen years, and understand the ins and outs of docking, navigating and public access on a vessel like this floating garden.
