Living Water Legacy Fund

Remembering We are All Water - teaching w/ community-led regenerative storytelling, watershed restoration & agriculture.

Water is the Source of Life and Water is our common bond with All Life. Yet we humans have forgotten this truth. We are living through a strange species-wide amnesia—we have forgotten how to celebrate, honor and cherish that which gives us our existence. The Living Water Legacy Fund is formed to help us remember this: We are all in this game together. By backing, co-creating, and implementing community-led projects that restore remembrance and connection to our ourselves, each other, AND our watershed biomes, we strive generate the kinds of actions that will bring us hydrological, ecological and social balance—on behalf of present and future generation of All Life. The projects we are looking to support might include an artist creating an immersive art piece or group of musician composing a song sing their love of Water; a community cooperative ensuring access to secure clean water and food sovereignty; piece of software encouraging regenerative agriculture; or community establishing an archive for preserving their ancestral ecological knowledge before it disappears. We are emphasizing collaborative efforts: from the restoration of a 15-acre regeneration farm near the source of the Nile in Uganda to youth media studios inside Watershed Community Revitalization Centers throughout Guinea, West Africa; from the return of an ancient Water ceremony from the Indigenous People of Colombia to a simple video series sharing Water's beauty—the possibilities are endless. The fund is hosted by the WaterUnity Networks and a cohort of Water-loving curators led by Eliza Herald, who has spent over 33 years crafting stories and strategies that move humanity toward caring for our Water, land, and community resilience. We are guided by a simple principle: We are all Water, and those communities living closest to the Water and the land it nurtures must be empowered to shape the decisions that affect our lives.
