About
The Poster Project brings together poets and artists to create an annual series of civic art posters. Each poster features an illustrated poem about downtown, the city at large, or nearby country side. We display the work in sidewalk kiosks.
Impact
The Project strengthens our city's sense of place, and establishes Syracuse as a place of creativity, diversity, and civic entrepreneurship.
Progress
Since our founding, in 2021, we have produced 24 annual poster series, each featuring 10 to 16 unique posters. Beyond the kiosks, we reach a broad audience through the sale of poster prints, note cards, and other poster based products.
Team
The Project was co-founded by James Emmons, formerly a newspaper reporter, and Roger DeMuth, a professor of illustration at Syracuse University. Emmons has a background in physics, journalism, and art.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
