About
A wood fired back yard kiln made from upstate New York earth for the Green Tea Party. It will be used for dinnerware, tiles, bricks, water pitchers and Olla pots, (used for irrigation). The goal is to be independent and self sustainable.
Impact
Harvesting local soil for a wood-fired kiln builds zero-emission infrastructure, produces low-tech Olla pots cutting water use by 70%, and crafts tableware for the Green Tea Party—fostering circular economy and community land stewardship.
Progress
Collected stones and moved them on location. Researched and investigated different types of kilns. Have identified suitable local clay and building methods.
Team
I'm ancient and my whole life has been dedicated to art. I'm a graduate of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University and have seen art practiced in a formal setting. Using earth to make art seems natural to me.
