About
I am making a visual storytelling project that captures and seeks to explore how the river Ibi shapes the existence of the Jukun people in Ibi. From the beauty of their culture to the silent battles they fight daily for survival, dignity and growth.
Impact
Through my pictures, i will preserve the Jukun culture for the next generation, show the world the beauty of the Jukun culture, spark global recognition, turn local realities into universal reflections on identity, resilience and shared humanity.
Progress
2 Years ago i started a documentary photography project titled "Kwata" (Kwata Means river in Jukun language). This project involves different shot list, scene ideas, photography concepts and its potential impact. The pictures are ready for exhibition
Team
As a young Jukun man, growing up by the river Ibi, the river became my teacher, one that instructs me on resilience, patience and survival. I have spent the last decade reclaiming the narratives of my people via photography and digital arts.
