Ocean Art & Media Fund

Seeking ocean-centered artists, storytellers, and founders whose work inspires people to protect and preserve the sea.

The Ocean Art & Media Fund supports photographers, painters, filmmakers, writers, marine artists, and mission-aligned founders whose work is rooted in the sea. We back projects that turn awe into stewardship—celebrating ocean beauty, confronting threats like pollution, reef loss, and overfishing, and moving audiences to protect the blue heart of our planet.

Eligibility

We welcome projects across art, media, science communication, speculative fiction, and earth-positive venture storytelling. From early concepts to finished works, the strongest submissions are original, impactful, and feasible—and they deepen our relationship to the ocean while helping audiences understand what is at stake and what can be done.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Projects must be meaningfully centered on the ocean, coasts, marine life, or humanity’s relationship with the sea.
- Eligible formats include photography, painting, film, documentaries, journalism, science communication, speculative fiction, digital media, immersive experiences, and other ocean-inspired creative works.
- BlueTech startups and founders are eligible only if the project includes a strong earth-positive media, storytelling, or cultural component.
- Projects should promote ocean appreciation, protection, restoration, regeneration, or public understanding of marine issues.
- Projects focused on challenges such as pollution, coral bleaching, habitat loss, or overfishing should ideally be connected to a credible nonprofit, research group, foundation, startup, or community organization working on solutions.
- Applicants should show how their project will reach an audience and translate awareness into meaningful cultural or ecological impact.
- Projects must be feasible within the proposed timeline and supported by a team, plan, or track record that suggests they can be completed.
